Earth One Trust & Earth 2.0
Earth One Trust addresses ecological degradation in Southern Africa by acquiring land and placing it into a trust to ensure it is managed as a commons. The project implements regenerative agriculture and biodiversity restoration co-designed with local communities. It aims to transform economic, social, and narrative systems by introducing regenerative financial models (e.g., fractional ownership, tokenized credits), embedding decentralized participatory governance, and shifting the cultural narrative of land from a speculative commodity to a shared legacy.
Systemic Lenses (Impact Approach)
Ecological The project implements direct interventions like reforestation, biodiversity corridor creation, and regenerative agriculture to address land degradation and biodiversity loss in Southern Africa.
Economic It introduces “regenerative financial models” such as fractional ownership and tokenized credits to internalize environmental benefits, shifting land from a speculative asset to a productive, regenerative one.
Social Power is redistributed through “inclusive community governance structures” and “stewardship councils,” shifting decision-making from centralized authorities to local communities.
Narrative / Belief The initiative actively works to reshape the cultural narrative, reframing land not as a resource for exploitation but as a “legacy, a sanctuary, and a commons.”
