The questions raised here are larger than a chapter can answer.

• How do we develop mobility between masculine and feminine energy?
• How do we build investment structures that let the hero and heroine dance?
• How do we initiate people — investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers — into the inner journey that makes a genuine return possible? Not the return of the third hero, who arrives without having descended, but the return of someone who has been broken open and comes back changed?
• And the most uncomfortable question this chapter poses: which return have you not yet made?

In the spirit of the indigenous medicine wheel, every ending is the beginning of the next cycle. New questions will arise, ideas will deepen or take a different turn. What emerges when financial capacities connect with other capacities — care, imagination, courage, community — is unthinkable, unpredictable and alive.

Let it come, let it go. We are moved by something greater than our minds can grasp.

So what, now what? (bringing it all in practice)

The Impact Explorers Club was set up from a mindset of do-ism. Learning by trying, experimenting and sharing learnings amongst each other and you, our readers.
Where actual capital allocation is quite easily measurable, what it does with our relation towards our wealth, the projects we engage with, and in between each other, is much harder (but maybe also more fundamentally important).

Bringing narratives like this into practice starts with sharing them broadly and proudly, but it can’t just stay there, it also has to find it’s way into new ways of how we act. Within our We Diligence process, we take the time to also actively explore how projects are impacting the narrative structures and power balances we so often take for granted. And the projects where nurturing communities and the land are a central piece (bioregioning projects like the Quipar Valley Initiative) are great examples of what happens when the story meets the soil.

It’s never an either-or story, it’s very much (like Corien shared) a dance. And maybe that dance is what true do-ism” actually means. Having the courage to embody several narrative movements without claiming on or the other as the sole solution for everything.
As we look ahead to Chapter 7 on Steward Ownership, we will see exactly how these profound narrative shifts are also increasingly being anchored into hard legal, financial, and governancestructures.
