Chapter 2

Our wishes

Our short & long term wishes

Short-term

  • Explorers feel connected, inspired, and engaged.
  • We think from risk/return tosynergies-return.
  • Learningsloops are discovered.
  • Begin Systemic Deployment with all four forms of capital –economic, social, cultural, symbolic.
  • Launch curated portfolios (~15 projects in short run).
  • Share We Diligence reports and first field learnings.
  • We start tointegratesystemicinfrastructurethinking in ourownwork.

Long-term

  • Explorers become systemic investors, field builders, and mentors
  • We talk stewardship, patterns, structures, roleseasily
  • New protocols and infrastructure feel easy
  • Other capital holders rethink their approach
  • Progressive Pioneers feel supported
  • Ripple effects

Longer term

  • We are old and grey. Many capital holders now understand emergence, protocols, living capitals, collective wisdom, synergestic investments. We are followers now.

Where we’re realistic

  • Embryonic field: systemic investing is still new –we’re making the road by walking.
  • Complexity: outcomes are emergent, non-linear, and hard to measure neatly.
  • Modest capital: our pool is small compared to the scale of global challenges.
  • Trust & collaboration: everything rests on openness and curiosity.
  • Timeframes: explorers may expect fast results, but systemic change takes decades.
  • External forces: markets, policies, and culture shifts are beyond our control.
